The Walking Trip: “A Visit to the Palace of Paruskwan and 120 Years of Thai-Russian Relations”

Listen to a narration about the life of General Samdech Preah Bormuangtheer, the Crown Prince of Phitsanulok, the Duke of Pisinunthanat, who was the one closest to Russia.

Understanding the reasons behind the late King’s decision to send his second heir to study in Russia and under the care of Tsar Nicholas II of the Romanov dynasty, the last Emperor of Russia, as well as the story of the love between a prince from Siam and a Russian woman who left their homeland to be with their beloved, and a walk through the gardens of the Jittralada Palace within the Palace of Prawsgavan, which is currently hosting the exhibition “Jangkorninitron and a Hundred Years of Siam and the First World War“, to celebrate the 120th anniversary of Thai-Russian relations and the 100th anniversary of participation in the First World War.

Program

Saturday, August 19, 2017, divided into 2 sessions: Morning session 10:00 – 12:00 PM and Afternoon session 13:00 – 15:00 PM (limited number of participants per session: 30).

  • 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. or 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. simultaneously at the 2nd floor meeting room of the Police Museum, Wang Praksawan
  • In the beginning: Listen to the narration of the life story of General, His Majesty the Crown Prince, Prince Chayapongprasit, Prince of Phitsanulok
  • Second period: We walked around the exhibition “Jakkapongnithorn” and listened to the lecturer’s presentation. When the time was right, we returned safely.

Travel

The Police Museum at Wang Prajakwan is located at the corner of Soi Sri Yodya and Soi Ratchadanaen Nok, near the Horse Statue Park. It is adjacent to the Police Metropolitan Region (PMR) headquarters opposite Amprat Park. You can take bus line 72 or 70, Pothana 503, or take the Skytrain to Phayathai Station and get off at the exit on Soi Sri Yodya Road. Then you can take a taxi (about 3 kilometers).
